RESOURCES TO TALK TO CHILDREN ABOUT COVID-19:
Speaking appropriately on the subject of children and coronavirus is a delicate topic between parents and their children. Not only is it difficult to get all the facts for your children, there’s also the concern of knowing the right way to speak with your children about how coronavirus has recently changed their lives.
Children need to be engaged on their level and should not be burdened with adult problems. For this reason, we’ve included several links to resources that will help parents learn how to talk to your kids about coronavirus.
Continuing to learn is important for children, both for their education and to maintain a sense of normality. Included here are multiple student resources for TK-6th grade students, plus free and trial memberships to educational organizations specializing in online education.
The state government in California is there for parents, providing multiple assistance programs. One such program provides affordable internet access to parents that qualify, through internet providers such as AT&T, Comcast/Xfinity, Cox, Spectrum/Charter, Sprint, and T-Mobile.
Informed parents can greatly reduce the fear and stress children are experiencing due to the coronavirus crisis. Parents and children can find opportunities within this crisis to come together and strengthen their bonds.
